A week just passed, and another fruitful discussion was held during the class of BS Architecture 2-4 in Ar. Bano’s building utilities class. The virtual discussion comprises some professional practice experiences of the instructor which makes the lesson more interesting and captivating. Specifications are crucial to the success of any project. These are included in the contract documents and are useful at any point of the design process for a structure or building. Furthermore, they are part of a structured process that organizes knowledge about construction materials, operations, and specifications. An Architect’s intellect and the diligent work of other professionals are not the only factors that contribute to the project's concretization. It is carried out by a communicative document that states and organizes data that is necessary for the structure to work properly and look good. A specified specification, according to Concipio Tekture (2019), is a collection of documents that support an architect's working drawing. It refers to the previously mentioned context gleaned from other sources. The emphasis on the standard of workmanship and the scope of work to be done is distinct in this description. My professor also explained during the lecture that learning how to recognize and build requirements is useful to architects because it can be applied to organizations that meet proper standards. In reality, large organizations, both domestic and multinational, adhere to a set of guidelines. The ‘MasterFormat,' developed by CSI and CSC, is an example of a standard guide to specification. Manufacturers use this to see if their goods meet the requisite requirements for height, weight, and other characteristics. Overall, knowing how important a Specification can be in the project development process, I must note this fundamental of architectural communication. Given that the majority of the licensed and successful domains of the profession I'm pursuing know a lot about this, I need to keep this in mind if I'm going to be as professional as they are. Furthermore, using the requirements task in a systematic and accurate manner will assist my comprehension of the standards practiced by licensed architects and builders both locally and globally.
